Fast & Furious 6 : A Complete Movie Review

The newest installment of the Fast and Furious series does not fail to do better than the previous one.The pace of the film is well set and at no time one feels that the movie is just stretching along. The movie has everything from sleazy cars to hot babes to great heart stopping action scenes. The twist at the end of the movie is unexpected but rather welcome to end the story on a serious note and giving a hint of what is to be expected from Fast and furious 7 (yes it has been announced )

Fast and Furious 6 picture

Cast:Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson

Director: Justin Lin

Hobbs talks to Dom's crewThe 2011 entry, Fast Five, intelligently accommodated the bloat by bringing the gang together for an Ocean's Eleven-style heist in Rio.Now, with the series' lovable rogues dispersed to various tropical locales, each living high off their share of $100 million in ill-gotten money, Fast & Furious 6 has to find a new reason to bring them all together — and it's not nearly so graceful with the heavy lifting.
The movie starts with Dominic Torreto (Vin Diesel) settled in with his Brazilian love interest Elena Neves (Elsa Patakywhere he is found by Luke Hobbs(Dwayne Johnson a.k.a The Rock) the federal agent a nemesis from the last film, who has grudging respect for Dom. He wants Dom and his crew (Brain & Co.) to help him track down Owen Shaw (Luke Evans) and his accomplices before they find the last part of a machine they are constructing which can fizzle down entire communication communication network and as rock puts it "you take down communication in the field of a soldier and he dies.Imagine what jamming of an entire communication network of the military will achieve,Millions of innocents will die ".The bait for Dom is the spotting of Letty (Michelle Rodriguez),who is his previous love interest in that rival crew (the fans may recall that she had died during the events of fast and furious 4 but apparently she's back).

Action scene in the movieWhat follows is a series of high profile car chases, reckless yet thrilling car racing, adrenaline filled fights and jaw dropping (for the lack of a better word) action. Amid all the noise, the races — there's a terrific one through the streets of downtown London — the crashes and the outlandish stunts, there is some humor, and it's very welcome. Particularly funny are Tyrese Gibson as Roman and Chris "Ludacris" Bridges as Tej, Dom's partners in crime.Lin peppers the film with action beats, including a good piece of hand-to-hand combat in a subway station,a particular fight of Rock versus muscled henchmen from Luke's crew on a running plane with more than 4 cars attached to it, tank vs cars battle and manages to pull it off in style.Brian O'Conner (Paul Walker) alongside Dom appears solid and does some action of his own to show why he is rated so highly in this series.Han(Sung Kang) and Giselle(Gal Gadot) also appear well placed in their respective roles

Dom with his car
Vin Diesel delivers a magnificent performance as Dom with his rigid values, care & love for his family illustrated  with one statement particularly touching the heart "You don't turn your back on family even when they do" when Brian asks him why is he pursuing Letty after she shot him.Paul Walker alongside him gives a powerful performance but i felt that sometimes he got shadowed by Vin's character. It was good to see 'The Rock' on the Vin's side and the chemistry between them is electric. Luke Evans ,as the nemesis comes across as a very intelligent guy who is always one step ahead of everybody. In general the characters are lively and deliver performances required of a fast and furious film.

Running time: 130 minutes.
Rating : 3.5/5

Pros: Fancy cars and thrilling action are selling points of this film. A must watch for car enthusiasts.

Cons: Plot of the film could have been better.Sometimes the story line seems imaginary particularly the scenes involving a tank.
