Reliance Digital Ghatkopar Review

With an Indiblogger invite in hand I entered the shop to review Reliance digital situated in R City Mall Ghatkopar and I had a very good experience. Here is my review of  the store:

On entry, I was greeted by a security personnel and was escorted to a security desk where I could keep my belongings and roam the shop freely. The Ambiance of the shop impressed me, the faint aroma of perfume, the bright lighting and neatly arranged products which set the tone for my review.The store is divided into three main departments namely Home Appliances, Gadgets & Kitchen & Personal grooming.

1] HOME APPLIANCES:

The home appliances section in Reliance Digital, Ghatkopar included varied varieties of TV's, Washing Machines, Refrigerators and AC's. TV's being the main attraction were found on the right and the front sections in the shop while the rest were found on the far right section of the shop. Everything essential you might need in a home is here all in one shop (I know, it sounds unbelievable but you can see for yourself!)

i) TVs

The store has a wide variety of TV types including LCDs, LEDs & Plasmas and a host of brands including Sony, Samsung, LG, Panasonic & Reliance's own Reconnect series. The striking feature of the TV's is their arrangement along the walls of the shop rather than cluttering them in the middle which gives them a better look and a feeling of continuity. The store has stocked upon LED TVs which highlight store's commitment to power saving
We asked for a TV demo of Samsung 45 Inch LED TV and found the staff explanation to be quite informative and making the decision process easier.

ii) Refrigerators, Washing Machines & AC's

There is humongous variety in washing machines in Reliance Digital. I saw Front-load, top load and even semi-automatic types which cater to a large section of the society. Refrigerators are also of various sizes and types suited to each individuals' taste and requirement. The store stocks up on various Air conditioners including Split-AC's & Window AC's from all leading brands. You will also find other miscellaneous products like fans (table and ceiling both), geysers and more in this section. I was flummoxed by the fact that all of these were energy saving with at least a 4 star rating ! Way to go Reliance!

2] GADGETS:

 i) LAPTOPS

Reliance Digital hosts a wide range of laptops right from affordable ones to mid range net books to high end power packed ones. All major brands may it be Dell, HP, Panasonic, Acer, Lenovo you name it and they have it. The best part about everything is that you can actually access them on your own and see without any restrictions. One year standard warranty is offered on all products and reliance provides one year extended warranty which I am sure many will vie for. The store also has all the accessories you will ever need like printers, scanners, DVDs, games as also essential soft wares and XBOX 360 for gamers (They allow kids to play it for free and I felt their chivalry was worth mentioning).

ii) Audio Systems

If you are Audiophile then Reliance Digital is the place for you. Starting from simple 2.5, 3.5 speaks to woofers and home theaters they can really hook you up. Accompanying that, they also posses DVD players, portable music players, portable video players as also Standalone headphones from top brands like Beats Audio, Seinheisser , Panasonic etc. Did I forget to mention you can have demos to of all the boomboxes to your hearts content to help you decide?

iii) Tablets and Mobiles

Tablets are one product for the future and keeping up with this trend Reliance Digital features a wide variety of Tablets. The arrangement of the tablets is in such a way that they are easy to view and handle. You can actually remove them from their attached tables and view them comfortably on your palm to get a complete feel. One thing to notice here is that there are no Dummies. All the major brands are covered here namely Samsung,Sony, Micromax, Acer etc.

iv) Cameras

The camera organization is quite efficient with separate sections for Lower End and higher end cameras and separate section for DSLR's. They also feature SLT's which came as a pleasant surprise to us. They also offer all the accessories you will ever want in a camera (batteries,cases,extra lenses,holders,tripods etc). They allow you to handle cameras and take photos to test the cameras. I was surprised to find a Samsung Galaxy camera with internet enabled working in the shop (most shop i visited had a dummy version of it as this camera has functionality interconnected to the internet)

3] KITCHEN APPLIANCES:

Many appliances which are designed to make kitchen work faster, simpler and less messy have been designed and I regret to admit but I never knew there were so many. Guess what you can find them all at Reliance digital! Apart from the usual Microwave ovens, blenders, heaters, juice makers, cookers they have some unique appliances like toasters, rice makers and mixers of all sizes (yes all sizes!). They also have a separate grooming section where you have all the items like razors, shaving kits, blades, creams etc which are kept to be bought according to user's discretion.

STAFF AND PERSONNEL :

The staff of reliance are really very different from the usual unhelpful ones you find at stores. Right from the time you enter the store they are at your service and help you with finding the right product. They are well versed with the products and their information is really quite helpful in making a decision. Even the store Manager Sir. Arul Jayaraman is quite jovial and cares for his customers. On one instance I found him  attending to the customers to see whether they feeling at home in the shop and to assist them in their choices which is something quite unheard of in today's world!

SOME STRIKING FEATURES OF THE SHOP :

1. Very good segregation of goods. So once you enter the right section you will be able to find all you want without moving much and can compare products easily which I believe is a big plus point.

2. Internet Services are available on all devices. So you can freely roam the web and can test the product you want to buy through and through.

3. Real products are kept instead of dummies so that you can have a hands on experience.

4. They offer 0% interest on EMi's too and I believe that was a nice gesture.

POINTS TO IMPROVE ON:

With everything near perfect it is quite difficult to find faults with anything. But i think there are a couple of things the shop can work on:

1. Sometimes issues are caused due to miscommunication between the supervisor and the attendants. But in my case I found out that it was resolved quickly so no great inconvenience was caused.

2. The kitchen section can be even more expansive (the current one i felt was satisfactory) but it is something which Reliance can build upon.
