Retrospect:Abstract thoughts

I led them alone, my thoughts in a fleet,
confound but fearless; we knew no defeat,
we marched through; overseeing the mounds of blunders,
how amused were we, I thought in wonders! 

We hiked through the forests gloomy and dense,
we halted for rest; in a covert fence,
as we left; all set and enraged, my fleet did swell,
many others engaged, as here did they dwell.

We advanced: overhead the merciless sun,
gotten a chance, our armors he did burn,
as we slept through the frosty night,
we staggered and shivered as it broke our might.

Exausted: in our dreamy thoughts, we secured a clarity,
the world can be much worse, much worse than reality.
